24 hours Cockerham Quarry
after getting a bit of info from you guys on the forum i headed down for a quick session. Cockerham quarry isnt the prettiest of spots, the digger and lorries didnt help and it was massivly busy.
Having said that, the fish did seem to play ball and i managed four to 19lb 14oz which is ok for a first trip.
Overall a good trip, the fish really fight above their weight in here.
Very dissapointed with the angling practices of some of the other 'fishermen' on there. Leaving rods is a big no no in my book (and in the eyes of the Environment agency) and unfortunalty chris the baliff wasnt interested in it either - its a shame as there are some nice fish in there, i would have thouguht he would have wanted to look after them a little more.

The condiction of the fish are awful compared to a few years ago. A few recaptures of different high doubles and 20s have proven this. But it's all upto Chris needs to do something but that's a whole different story.

Its not chris`s fault, really cant blame him he`s trying to earn a crust. Maybe people who hammer the place year in year out should maybe move on?

Think he needs to stock a few more in, possible a few larger fish and people would move on to the new lake. With a limit of 16lb people just dont wana know......he hasnt really thought about it very well...

the stock wise is good but you wanna now give the other fish chance to grow and let them settle over winter. yes it would of been better with a few biguns in

Hes stocking it again, he mentioned 20s. He said record is 17lb common. Depending on the strain of carp, it could turn into a decent big fish lake in many years because of the low stock density.
