Most unexpected capture....

Post by Dlowry on Sun Jan 24, 2010 10:16 pm

Mine was on cockerham 3am in the moarning, the alarm was just giving the odd beep but the bobbin was dancing, stuck to feel hardly no resistance. Thinking it was a small carp, netted it to find a slimely odd looking thing in my landing net. Still half asleep I woke my dad up to let him have a look, it was a decent size bream we weighed it, it few oz off 10lb, upto this point all we knew it contained two tench and the rest carp.

I was told there was two large Bream in the water a few years ago. Last year Andy and I were fishing on Cockerham when we had an amazing thunder storm. After the storm had cleared, right at my rod tips up popped a massive Bream, 99% dead. Could not believe my eyes. It was full of some skanky skin parasite and I'm assuming that was the main cause of it's death. Anyway a guy who was surface fishing (who has no respect for fish going by the way he just throws his captures back) next to me came over and knocked it on the head with a nearby rock.
